Year of the Rat was a Lunar New Year-themed Secret Lair celebrating the 2020 Year of the Rat, featuring eight foil alternate-art cards centered around Magic's Rat tribe. Artwork from JungSang, Fiona Hsieh, Kisung Koh, and Jenn Ravenna gave the drop a playful but distinctive style, while the inclusion of five different copies of the same Rat creature made it especially suited to Rat tribal decks. The drop combined seasonal significance, tribal playability, and a cohesive collectible theme.
