Secret Lair x Monster Hunter: The Hunters was planned as part of the original Monster Hunter Superdrop, alongside several other themed collections. The entire Superdrop was postponed after Wizards of the Coast acknowledged that the initial version fell short in its card selection and integration of Monster Hunter’s world and mechanics. Because this planned release was pulled before launch and slated for a complete rework, its original version became a notable part of the crossover’s development history.
