Secret Lair x MSCHF: The Zeta Set

September 2, 2026

Secret Lair x MSCHF: The Zeta Set paid tribute to the handmade origins of Magic: The Gathering by recreating the rough, improvised aesthetic of the game’s earliest playtest cards. Created with MSCHF, the release used public domain artwork, original photography, photocopied imagery, and deliberately imperfect print treatments across a pool of 121 cards, with each sealed Zeta Booster containing a randomized selection. Its combination of Magic history, experimental production techniques, and randomized packaging made it one of Secret Lair’s most unusual collector-focused releases.
